An English major in college and an avid reader her entire life,  Kathy has always had an interest in creating through the written word.  She has self-published two books, Journal to Healing and a children's book, Hair, Hair Everywhere!   Several more books are currently in the works.  Recently, her creativity has spilled over into working with beads and textiles, as well. She creates scarves using a variety of designs and textiles, but no patterns.

In addition, she has ventured into the beading arena, combining beads, fiber, and other materials to create wearable, one-of-a-kind works of art.  Her line, Desert Dog Designs, is available at art shows and at several specialty boutiques and resorts throughout the country.  She often gets her inspiration for pieces from nature--the vibrant colors of a sunset, viewing the ebb and flow of the ocean from a balcony, or from the uniqueness of a shell washed up on shore.

Kathy is also the creator of "Selfworks", a series of workshops designed to encourage self-awareness, healing and creativity.  Sample titles include:  Meditative Movement, Kidding Around, and Discover U.
