Gloria started painting about 5 years ago as a way to pass the time. With no formal art classes or any type of lessons it is now a hobby that she enjoys...using all different forms...pastels, oils, watercolors, pencils, etc.

It wasn't until she was 47 that she started doing what she enjoys  the most... CREATING!!

She decided to form WOMEN IN ART IN PENNSYLVANIA (W.I.A.I.PA) to bring women together in an effort to help other women in the community by raising money for women and their children who are abused and in shelters.

Women are a powerful force in the community and need to stand up, join in and be part of a community that is willing to help other women and their children in their darkest hours.

WIAIPA is always looking for talented women artist to help with our projects, please contact her at gloria11355@rcn.com

"A SOUL SET FREE"
is an oil on canvas painting using a crackle medium & opal paints. It depicts an abused women's spirit soaring to the heavens after her abuser finally murdered her.

This piece was auctioned off at the Oct.7th WIAIPA Fashion Show and Dinner.

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS PAINTING WERE SENT DIRECTLY TO A WOMEN'S SHELTER AFFECTED BY HURRICANE "KATRINA".
